Simphiwe Marule - Regional MENtor

Simphiwe Marule, was born and raised in KZN, moved to Pretoria in 2007 and now live in Johannesburg with his darling wife Tshidi.  He studied Software development but found himself in the interesting world of Customer Experience Management, where he helps companies to treat their customers to the best of their ability.

“I enjoy spending time with friends and family and showing the love of Jesus to the world. I also enjoy public speaking and spreading the Gospel.  One of my goals in life, is to bring the little children to Jesus.”

Sizwe Makhaya - MENtor

Sizwe lives with his wife, in Johannesburg. By day he is a Credit Analyst but at night he is an avid Street Workout and Calisthenic Athlete. His beliefs are simple, God is always in control.

Sizwe loves dancing and is passionate about fitness. He most enjoys training and teaching people about calisthenics. And he is always smiling.

Tim Ross - MENtor

Tim grew up in Johannesburg before pursuing forestry as a career at the University of Stellenbosch – mostly to avoid the traffic and pursue fly-fishing and enjoy great coffee!  Forestry has enabled him to live in some beautiful places locally and travel to breathtaking vistas around the globe.

He currently works for an East African based forestry company and often travels to Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda, and less exotic destinations like Zimbabwe.

Tim married up – an industrial engineer in the forestry sector – and lives in Pretoria with his amazing wife, son and daughter.  Growing up without a dad, but surrounded by capable MENtors, having a son of his own, and seeing the impact of absent dad’s through his travels, has given Tim a burning desire and passion for fathering and sons.

By partnering with TCC, Tim hopes to raise men that will live pure, speak truth, drink great coffee, act justly, read Lord of the Rings, right wrong, catch big fish, walk humbly, hike far, love hard, stand strong and honour the king!

Sean Krige - MENtor

Sean loves jelly, kids and dogs (in no particular order). His battleground is discipleship, entrepreneurship, social justice and education. He has started, run, stopped, and closed businesses, and been a mentor to many others who have done the same. He has made some bad mistakes in all areas of life, but found the grace to overcome, and tries to help others do the same. Sean remains a strategist and visionary at heart, but is sure to add 3 ingredients to every 'recipe' he's a part of - that of faith, hope and love.

In his capacity as TCC mentor, he can think of no greater joy or privilege, than being a mentor and father figure to those who don't have.

Kabelo Malotle - MENtor

I was born and raised in the township called Katlehong in the east of Johannesburg and I am currently staying  at home with my mother and nephew. I currently work as a call centre agent and I'm very passionate about helping others to the best of my ability.

I love listening to music especially house music, playing soccer, logo design and going to gym to train. I aspire to make a difference in my township even the world and wish to inspire others to do the same.

Philip Hoffmann - MENtor

Philip has a passion for people, young people especially and has enjoyed mentoring young engineers and technicians throughout his professional career. Philip has also been Human Resources director at his previous company and has especially enjoyed developing young people into professionals.

When Philip lost his dad he realised what a void it left in his life. With his love for young people and with a son of his own Philip wants to utilize his life skills and experience to make a difference in the life of these boys, especially as a dad.

Thando Malepe - MENtor

Thando is determined to change his community for the better, whether its running a small children’s ministry every Saturday or the proactive work he does organising wheelchairs for those in need in his community. He is an active member of Network of Caring and is working to procure more community members.

He has a quite demeanour but in five minutes in his company you fall in love with his companionate heart, his sincerity and inner focus. He is enthusiastic and is always helpful to have around.  Thando is willing to be accountable and takes instruction and or guidance with an open heart.  He is like a sponge.

For all these reasons we think Thando is a be a fine addition to our team.

JD Clarence - MENtor

JD has left the sunny skies and sandy beaches of the South Coast - KZN to pursue  a career up in Johannesburg in 2005 – he has been here ever since… Whilst the move itself was born out of necessity, he has grown accustomed to the rhythms of the province, and one can easily say, taken a liking to the everyday bustle of the City of Gold…

Whilst growing up, the men from his church community were instrumental in shaping him, and made themselves available to walking a journey with him – “I owe a great deal of gratitude to my midweek cell leaders and my mentors from junior church and youth leaders from my childhood…without their vested interest in my life I wouldn’t be the man that I am today…I had this insatiable needed to pay-it-forward…”  He has been a junior church leader, a youth leader and a counsellor and is very empathetic to the plight of the young MAN who is trying to discover who he is in this vast macrocosm we call existence.  He clearly understands that existence is not a solitary venture but a progressive journey where one’s character is tried and forged in the flames of MENtorship.

He draws inspiration from the ethical ideology of Ubuntu which teaches us the human virtue that people are people because of people… that each one exists because of the other. “I am, because of the MENtors in my life… their values are now my values and I’d like to share this so that young men who are not raised by fathers, never need to feel alone in this world and that they can be defined with a purpose like I was…”

Craig Morris - MENtor

I was born and raised in Johannesburg by my mum until the age of six and then placed in St Georges home for boys. I have many found memories of growing up at St Georges and I recall all the Mentors who had been that father, brother and friend who made a positive impact in my life.

I am passionate about Jesus, family and friends and I enjoy serving the community. I recently joined the Character Company and believe in the Character Company’s Goals - that a positive long-term relationship model is what is required to make a positive impact within our communities and country.

I am committed to serve by Mentoring boys in becoming a positive influence in their communities and within society at large.

Pitso Moahlodi - MENtor

Pitso Moahlodi, is a married family man and father of two lovely daughters namely, Ipeleng Moahlodi (12 years old) and Boipelo Moahlodi (10 years old).

I have been married to my lovely wife, Eva Moahlodi, for 18 years. Our Almighty God has been good to us and has been blessing our married life with grace and mercy and love at all the times and we are grateful for that.

I am the kind of a person who loves working with others and because I enjoy meeting new people. I am passionate about the welfare of those in my community. Being of service to others is a great gift. I feel a strong sense of responsibility to helping others achieve their educational and economical goals.

My most passionate interests are working with young boys - sharing my life experiences with them whilst giving them the skills and courage to face life’s challenges with boldness and spirit. I wish to contribute to the work done by The Character Company, as we work together to raise boys to be good men.

Marius Beytell - MENtor

Marius Beytell, Husband, father, Sunday school teacher and saviour to just about every bird that has ever fallen from their nest.

I am what some would consider a dreamer, a child of the clouds.  They may be right, but I also have a focus on things that matter, not only because they matter to me, but because they matter to others.

I love GOD, my family, my friends and virtually everyone who crosses my path.

I write poetry, busy with 2,5 books, love running, cycling and putting my body to the test. Love projects where things are made from unlikely items...
